1,500 Reasons to Fight Child Hunger

This week, Green BEAN Delivery donated enough oranges to feed 1,500 Cincinnati children living in the 45225 zip code to help prevent hunger over winter break. This 500 pound donation resulted from Cincinnati radio station WXVU’s winter fund drive in partnership with Childhood Food Solutions.

Childhood Food Solutions puts food into the hands of children during breaks from school – winter break, summer break, and weekends. We recently spoke with our friend Tony Fairhead, Executive Director of Childhood Food Solutions. He reiterated their strategy of getting food to children during the times that kids may not be able to get food. Tony was happy to report that key health indicators have been improving in the 45225 zip code over the last several years. Fighting child hunger continues to be a top priority for improving the health of the community, both for Childhood Food Solutions and Green BEAN Delivery.
