Overview and Reheating Instructions
Our dishes are simply reheated in the order of longest to reheat, to shortest. After reheating, they’re presented on a plate or in a bowl, and garnished. The oven should be preheated fully when applicable. The objective is to have all the components reheated and ready to plate at nearly the same time. Some variances will occur and that’s just fine! Everything will come together and be great in the end!
Follow These Steps
- Preparation Sequence: First heat the butter chicken, then saag, followed by the steamed rice. Start the butter chicken by pouring into a small sauce pan. Turn on the heat to medium-low and stir fairly often to prevent sticking (a little is expected). Reheating will take 12-15 minutes. Once hot, cover and keep warm on the stove.
- Saag: Once the butter chicken is started, pour the saag into a sauce pan and put the rice into a microwaveable container with 1 tablespoon of water, and cover. Turn on the heat under the saag to medium-low and stir fairly often to prevent sticking (a little is expected). Reheating will take 12-15 minutes. Once hot, cover and keep warm on the stove.
- Rice: After the saag and butter chicken are both heating on the stove, start the rice. Put the covered container into the microwave and cook on high in 1 minute intervals—stirring between each interval recovering. (Usually 3 intervals.) Let the rice sit and steam for 2 minutes before plating.
- Plating: Make a pile of steamed rice off center of the plate. Ladle on a portion of butter chicken with plenty of sauce. In the open space on the plate, add the saag. Serve the chutney in a small side dish for people to add to their tasting.
