Shredded Zucchini Recession Burgers

Mouthwatering, heavenly, droolworthy.  These are usually the words I use when talking about a good, juicy burger. In my eyes, burgers are a summertime staple.  Recently, I have been trying to make my ground beef last longer than usual.  By mixing shredded veggies in with ground beef, it has been quite the meat extender.  Not only does this allow one to feed more mouths at a cheaper cost, but it also allows you to sneak in some extra nutrients into your burger patties.  And the best part?  It is so tasty!

By using shredded zucchini and almond flour with ground beef, I have been able to double the quantity of patties that I can usually make with 1lb of ground beef.  The zucchini adds a juicy sweetness to each tender, salty bite.  I always top my burger with smoked bacon, sharp cheddar cheese, a sweet tomato, and BBQ sauce for flavorful bites of that mouthwatering, heavenly, droolworthy burger.

  1. Preheat your grill.
  2. Shred zucchini with a grater.  Place in a thick paper towel and squeeze out excess water.
  3. Mix together zucchini, ground beef, almond flour, onion, garlic powder, and salt and pepper.
  4. Form 4 burger patties.
  5. Grill patties for about 4 minutes on each side.
  6. Top with your favorite toppings.
  7. Enjoy 🙂
